Jung Hoseok, known professionally as J-Hope, was born on February 18, 1994, in Gwangju, South Korea. As BTS's main dancer and a skilled rapper, he is often considered the group's dance leader and one of its mood-makers.
Before joining Big Hit Entertainment, J-Hope was a member of an underground dance team called NEURON and had already built a reputation as a skilled street dancer. His dance expertise has been instrumental in helping choreograph and teach routines to other members.
J-Hope is known for his bright, positive energy, which inspired his stage name—bringing "hope" and joy to fans and members alike. Despite this sunny exterior, his solo work reveals deeper, more introspective layers to his artistry.
