How it works

Each puzzle uses two to five emoji to describe a BTS song — sometimes the title, sometimes its theme or visual world. Four closely matched titles are offered and one is right. Choose a five, ten, or twenty-song mode from a pool of 130.

Getting it right

The trick is to decide which of the three kinds of clue you are looking at before you read the options. A literal one spells the title out — you will know it immediately. The other two want you to think about the song rather than its name, and those are where the B-sides hide. When the emoji seem to have nothing to do with any of the four options, it is usually the video being described.

Singles are easy, album tracks are not

The expanded pool covers group tracks and all seven solo catalogues, not just the hits. Each question is marked Level 1, 2, or 3, and the answer reveal shows its artist and era. Recent songs cool down on this browser so replaying produces a genuinely different set.

If you keep missing the same ones

The discography lists every track on every release, in order, which is the gap most people are missing rather than any trick in the clues. TheLyric Lab tests the same knowledge from the opposite direction — a line of the song instead of a picture of it.
